Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals have appealed local authorities to act quickly on creating space for active travel.
Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals have appealed to the London Boroughs of Redbridge, Havering and Barking and Dagenham to act quickly on creating space for active travel.
In a letter signed by the the Chair, Chief Executive, the Chief Nurse and the Medial Director, the Trust cited the need for staff to get into the hospital and the long term impact of travel on health. The trust called for local councils to consider emergency bike lanes, widening pavements and the closing of residential streets to through traffic.
The CEO of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Trust is calling on the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea to move faster to create safe space for staff and patients to be able to access the hospital.
